Owner/Baker - SHane Landry
30 YEARS of LOVE
Started by Connie O'Meara and Richard Goldberg in the late 70s, Connie's Bakery has been serving Provincetown residents, visitors, and it's surrounding communities for more than 30 years.
With just a small retail counter in the Lobster Pot Restaurant and the passion for baking, the bakery opened in 1979. Several years later the bakery outgrew the space it had and moved to its very own location by the old riding stables on Race Point road. They brought over several dedicated employees including Jenny, who still does all the bakery production, and a few college students from the Czech Republic, whom continued with the bakery until graduating.
In their second year at Race Point road, Connie and Richie went to Boston to interview Shane, a recent Johnson & Wales University graduate. They knew right away that he was the right person to join their team. Over the next five years Connie, Richie and their daughter, Liz worked closely with Shane, teaching him everything about the bakery, introducing him to the regular customers and establishing a great friendship. In 2012, after more than 30 years in business, Connie and Richie decided to retire. To keep the successful name and outstanding product alive in Provincetown, Connie and Richie passed all that they created on to their Manager and friend, Shane.
Today Shane is proud to carry on the tradition of superlative baking that Connie & Richie started over 30 years ago. He brings a new flare and atmosphere to the bakery while maintaining the same great product that Connie and Richie offered. With the knowledge and experience he gained from school and various baking jobs as well as a passion for baking passed down from his grandmother, Shane continues to improve the quality that he feels every customer should experience.
